This six-month challenge was born from a simple wish: to change my life, step by step, toward more freedom, independence and clarity.
It’s a gentle, accessible progression, blending exploration, daily practice and personal transformation.
Here’s how I’m going to live — and document — this adventure.
Between nature, independence and exploration
Reinvent yourself, lighten your load, learn again.
🟦 Where I’m coming from: returning to the essential to change my life
After twenty-five years building for others — houses, projects, ideas — I felt the need to rebuild differently.
Not with walls, but with meaning.
I was lucky enough to experience several forms of entrepreneurship, manual work and creation.
That path taught me patience, independence and the pride of “doing it yourself.”
But over time, one thing became clear: freedom isn’t only something you think about… you experience it, day to day, through simple gestures and routines that genuinely transform a life.
Today, I want to return to something simpler, truer:
travel differently, learn useful skills, explore more independent ways of living, and observe how it transforms the way I am.

For six months, I’m going to explore Southeast Asia — mainly Indonesia, Thailand, and maybe the Philippines.
My goal is simple: learn to live more freely.
Transform my daily life through gentle progress, personal commitment, and a regular practice of simple actions.
🔷 A simple, concrete progression, day after day
On the agenda:
- exploring inspiring places: secluded beaches, coastal villages, tropical gardens, alternative resorts…
- learning essential self-reliance skills: fishing, making a fire, cooking simply, camping out, building light.
- sharing genuine encounters: craftspeople, fishermen, locals, travelers.
- observing how this routine of exploration transforms my habits, my relationship with comfort, and my way of living.
🟡 How I’m going to document this transformation
This blog will be my living logbook.
Every week, you’ll find:
- honest accounts in the
➡️Freedom Journal (in French) ; - techniques and tips for progressing toward more independence in the section:➡️From the Field (in French) , where I share concrete feedback.
- exceptional places in the section:
➡️Explore Places (in French) ; - reflections on freedom, meaning, simplicity and minimalism;
- gear tests for minimalist living outdoors.
There won’t be lectures, just lived experiences.
Successes, mistakes, struggles… and lessons to share.
🟣 This challenge isn’t extreme: it’s just a wish to live differently
I’m not trying to survive, but to learn to live differently:
- making something with my own hands,
- eating what I find or what I cook simply,
- sleeping to the rhythm of the wind and the tides,
- letting life find its natural movement again.
Maybe real success isn’t about “doing more,”
but about living better — according to your own values. It’s a gradual personal transformation, a gentle routine that reconnects you to the essential.

🟢 Personal notes
This challenge starts here, somewhere between excitement and simplicity.
I don’t have all the answers, and that’s exactly what motivates me.
Over six months, I’m going to learn, experiment, sometimes fail — and share all of it here.
The logistical preparation for this trip (budget, visas, planning, choice of destinations) is detailed here:

Living freely means learning to be content with the essential.
